Elsa Pool, PhD, LCSW, MHA
Dr. Pool received her Masters in Social Work from Tulane University in 1972, Masters in Health Administration from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 1979 and her Ph.D. from Tulane University in 1993. Dr. Pool has held teaching positions on the faculty of Tulane University and University of New Orleans and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Louisiana State University Medical School Department of Psychiatry. She has been affiliated with the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute since 1997 and became President of the New Orleans-Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center from 2007-2011. Her special areas of interest include psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis with adults.
Doug Pool, M.D.
Dr. Pool received his M.D. degree from LSU Medical School, completed his adult psychiatry residency at the Tulane University School of Medicine, and completed his child psychiatry fellowship at LSU School of Medicine. He is board certified in adult, child and administrative psychiatry. He has served on both the Clinical Faculty of Tulane School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and the Clinical Faculty of LSU School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Pool is a graduate of the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute and has been affiliated with the Institute since 1985 where he is on faculty. His special areas of interest include psychodynamic psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults and psychoanalysis with adults.
